Within its 17th century stone walls, the cottage interior is a haven of style and comfort, decorated and furnished with impeccable contemporary furniture and total luxury: underfloor heating, stunning bathrooms, a huge shower, flat screen televisions and a fabulous kitchen.

Open, light and airy double living room — ‘informal’ side with flat screen TV/DVD player and Scandinavian wood burning stove — ‘formal’ side with CD stereo and open fireplace with antique fireback — suede and leather covered furniture, ‘straw bale’ stools, expandable breakfast table. Through to unique dining room built in to the old ice cellar, with underfloor heated stone floor with uplights, bespoke pureform dining table and chairs for up to eight people. Modern fully fitted kitchen (directly accessible from both living and dining rooms), also with underfloor heating with fridge, oven, hob, extractor, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave (freezer in outside shed). Door to garden.

 

First floor: Via wooden staircase from living room to landing with desk and high speed wireless internet connection and telephone. Main bedroom has large double bed and en suite open plan bathroom, separate WC and mezzanine balcony dressing room. Second bedroom has queen size double bed, which can unzip to be used as twin singles; designer clothes storage. Both bedrooms have flat screen TVs and hairdryers and all lights are on dimmer systems. Separate huge bathroom with free standing bath, Colossus walk-in power shower, double basins set in Italian chocolate granite.

 

All main room windows have smooth-as-silk oak shutters and bathroom windows are fitted with blinds. Outside is a decked and terraced suntrap garden, with table, chairs and sun loungers and night lighting connected to a sensor, so you don’t even have to turn it on as the evening creeps in! Garden shed contains freezer and log store.

 

The Manor House Hotel offers concessionary green fees to Mead Cottage residents for play on their Peter Alliss designed golf course (handicap required). They will also provide room service meals from their excellent Bybrook Restaurant to the cottage and even deliver your morning newspaper!
