Gable Cottage Stow

........a cosy two bedroom period cottage, a few minutes walk from the market square in the historic Cotswold market town of Stow-on-the-Wold.

 

Gable Cottage is a 250 year old two bedroom cottage in historic Wraggs Row. Its architectural and historic significance have been recognised by English Heritage by giving it a Grade 2 listing.  

 

With exposed beams, low ceilings, flagstone floors, and gabled bedroom windows, it is full of original character and charm but now has all the comforts and conveniences of modern day living, such as central heating, a modern kitchen with AGA, and a new contemporary bathroom.  

 

From the lounge a narrow staircase leads up to the two bedrooms on the first floor. Don’t be concerned if the walls seem to lean at strange angles and the floors seem to slope in every direction. It’s not that last glass of merlot, just 18th century timbers gently settling in! The main bedroom has a comfortable double bed. There is room for an extra single bed if needed. The other bedroom has luxurious twin beds that can be put together as a super-king double if requested in advance.
