Bath in the Cotswolds
page heading

Bath

Architecturally and historically the City of Bath really deserves a web site of its own.  Famous for its Roman origins developed on the basis of the Romans finding natural hot springs, the town in Saxon times then became a holy shrine with King Offa dedicating and building the famous Abbey.   Unfortunately the town and its famous baths went into decline until Richard 'Beau' Nash in the 1700s regulated the use of the baths and established Bath as an elegant Georgian city with an envied social position.  The city of Bath is a fine tribute to this one man.
