Bibury

The largest and most famous villages in the Coln Valley.  Bibury is a village of several parts.  Stroll alongside the River Coln and discover the beauty of Arlington Row whilst watching Trout swim up river.

Arlington Row comprises of weavers cottages that once housed the weavers working at Arlington Mill.   The cottages were built in 1380 as a monastic wool store and converted into a row of weavers' cottages in the 17th century, the Row is now owned by the National Trust. Arlington Mill was once both a cloth mill and a corn mill  and now house a museum including a collection of William Morris memorabilia.

 

Further along the River Coln you will find Bibury Trout Farm, where you can both fish in season and buy farmed trout to take home. Bibury Court a 17th century mansions now run as a stunning country house hotel.  The White Swan on the side of the River Coln with its acclaimed hotel and restaurant.
